I am lonely, yet not everybody will do. I don’t know why, some people fill the gaps and others emphasize my loneliness.

Self-care is subversive.
A lot of times I play this trick on myself where I think that I’m taking care of myself by not doing anything. I can’t go to class today; it’s too stressful. I can’t shower today; cleanliness is a tool of the patriarchy. I can’t do my homework; it’s overwhelming. I won’t answer my phone today; I need me time. Eating healthy and working out is for girls who want boyfriends and I am my own woman! But it’s not true you guys. Because that stuff doesn’t mean I’m taking care of myself. Sometimes self-care has to be making yourself get out of bed and doing your work and eating vegetables and having human contact. I have to start reminding myself of that or I’ll end up back in yoga pants for six months or some similarly terrible fate.
